3 OH! 9 has established relationships throughout the US and London and within the music industry. We consult on the following services.
Mixing
Audio mixing is the process of taking recorded tracks and blending them together. sound recording and reproduction, audio mixing is the process of combining multitrack recordings into a single track. Tracks are blended using various processes such as EQ, Compression and Reverb. The goal of mixing is to bring out the best in your multi-track recording by adjusting levels, panning, and time-based effects (chorus, reverb, delay).
Recording
In sound recording and reproduction, audio mixing is the process of combining multitrack recordings into a single track.
Production
A record producer or track producer or music producer oversees and manages the sound recording and production of a band or performer’s music, which may range from recording one song to recording a lengthy concept album. 3 OH! 9 producers may have many roles during the recording process. 3 OH! 9 producers may gather musical ideas for the project, collaborate with the artists to select cover tunes or original songs by the artist/group, work with artists and help them to improve their songs, lyrics or arrangements.
Our producers may also:
• Select session musicians to play rhythm section accompaniment parts or solos
• Co-write
• Propose changes to the song arrangements, and
• Coach the singers and musicians in the studio
The producer typically supervises the entire process from pre-production, through to the sound recording and mixing stages, and, in some cases, all the way to the audio mastering stage. The producer may perform these roles himself, or help select the engineer, and provide suggestions to the engineer. The producer may also pay session musicians and engineers and ensure that the entire project is completed within the record companies’ budget.
Streaming
We provide referrals for on-demand music streaming services. The services offer streaming of full-length content via the Internet as a part of their service, without the listener necessarily purchasing a file for download. This type of service is comparable to internet radio. Many artists host their music in an online music store.
Support
We provide support for independent musicians and singers. We facilitate music production, recording sessions or studio time. We also provide consultative solutions with record producers.
Mastering and Post Production
Mastering requires critical listening; however, software tools exist to facilitate the process. 3 OH! 9 Music masters prepare and transfer recorded audio from the production source containing the final mix to a data storage medium (the master); the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). In recent years digital masters have become usual although analog masters, such as audio tapes, are still being used by the manufacturing industry, notably by a few engineers who have chosen to specialize in analog mastering.
Results still depend upon the approach taken by the engineer, the accuracy of studio monitors, and the listening environment. Mastering engineers also provide corrective equalization, dynamic range compression, and stereo reconfiguration processes in order to optimize sound for all playback systems.
